Topic: Don’t Waste Your Trials

James 1:2-4 – My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Trial – is what the enemy wants to do against us.

Adversary/Enemy – prevents you to do what God has planned for you.

Test – Comes from God. God wants you to pass the test.

Count it all joy – looking to God in the midst of your trial.

The testing of your faith produces patience – our ability to hold on to God even when you can’t see any response.

How to waste your trials:

1.) Running away – the trial will just keep repeating until you face it.

2.) Quitting

2 Kings 5:8 (The Story of Naaman with leprosy)

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 – Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
