Share God’s Compassion
In this Sunday Mass Homily at Saint Michael Kalibo, +Bp. Romie-Jun Peñalosa reminds us to share God’s compassion. Today’s Gospel highlights our mission to proclaim the Good News. More importantly, it reveals that the compassion of Jesus is meant to be shared. God shows His compassion to each of us, and in turn, He calls us to share God’s compassion with others.
Christ’s mission is to redeem people from sin. Today, that mission continues through us, the Church. Therefore, we are called to preach the Gospel, care for the sick, and confront evil without expecting anything in return. As disciples of Christ, we must become instruments of His mercy and love.
Furthermore, God entrusts us with the responsibility to continue His work in the world. By our words and actions, we can bring hope, healing, and compassion to those in need. Indeed, God’s mission is also our mission. When we faithfully answer His call, we not only proclaim the Good News but also share God’s compassion with everyone we encounter.
