Prepare for God’s Coming
In this Sunday Mass Homily at Saint Michael Kalibo, +Bp. Romie-Jun Peñalosa reminded us to Prepare for God’s Coming.
Today’s Gospel, the Parable of the Ten Virgins, teaches us to remain ready for Christ’s return. However, we must first examine our hearts and ask if we are truly prepared. Bishop Peñalosa emphasized that even faithful people experience exhaustion, fears, worries, and discouragement.
Oftentimes, we think that living a Christian life means being free from struggles. However, even our Church leaders, mentors, and parents experience weariness. Feeling tired does not mean losing one’s faith. Therefore, we must not condemn others for being weary but instead show them love and understanding.
To overcome life’s burdens, we must cultivate a life of love, forgiveness, and prayer. Prayer allows us to converse with God—not only by speaking to Him but also by listening to His voice.
Our relationship with Jesus serves as the oil that keeps our faith burning. Therefore, let us pray without ceasing and continually seek His presence.
As we await His return, let us remain faithful and keep our hearts ready. Prepare for God’s Coming by nurturing your relationship with Him every day.
