Old Testament Proclamation: Genesis 9 : 8 – 17
Responsorial Psalm : Psalm 25
New Testament Proclamation: 1 Peter 3 : 18 – 22
Gospel Proclamation: Mark 1 : 9 – 15
God established His covenant with His people. He is the one who initiates His covenant with us, as we acquire through baptism.
In baptism:
1. We become sons of God.
2. We entered into a covenant with God.
3. What belongs to Christ also belongs to us.
God always remembers His covenant with us. That is, he is so mindful and faithful in performing His covenant.
People’s response to God’s covenant is through:
1. Repentance As we repent we acknowledge our total dependence to God. 2. Faith
Whoever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our Faith. (1 John 5:4-5)
Our covenant with God assures us the victory in every test we encounter.
