Feast of the Holy Innocents

Feast of the Holy Innocents

Join us for the celebration of the Feast of the Holy Innocents on December 28, 2024, at 6:30 AM at the Cathedral of Saint Michael, Kalibo. This special Holy Eucharistic Service honors the innocent children martyred by King Herod in his attempt to destroy the infant Jesus, reminding us of their role as witnesses to Christ.

What makes this service particularly unique is that it will be ministered by children, symbolizing the innocence and purity of the Holy Innocents. Children from our parish will take on vital roles throughout the celebration, including:

  • Choir Members: Their angelic voices will lead the congregation in hymns, filling the cathedral with the pure and joyful sound of worship.
  • Ushers: Welcoming attendees with warm smiles and guiding them during the service.
  • Acolytes and Altar Servers: Assisting the clergy in the sacred liturgy, showcasing their devotion and participation in the faith.

This celebration is a beautiful way to involve our young members in ministry, teaching them the value of service and nurturing their spiritual growth. It also reminds us of the importance of cherishing and protecting children in our communities, as they embody the hope and future of the Church.

We invite everyone to join this meaningful Eucharistic celebration as we reflect on the lives of the Holy Innocents and their profound witness to Christ’s divinity. Arrive early to find seating and participate fully in this special liturgy.

Let us come together in faith and solidarity, honoring the Feast of the Holy Innocents and celebrating the joy and hope that children bring to our Church and our lives.
